  1. Cherokee County Senior Services is looking for volunteers to help seniors learn basic computer skills. If that sounds like something you'd be good at or you'd like more information, please reach out to Sydney Caughman with Senior Services by phone at 770-345-6730 or by email at cmcaughman@cherokeega.com.   2. Today is the party celebrating Woodstock Beer Market's two-year anniversary in Downtown Woodstock! There will be live music, vendors, food samples and tasty beer for us to enjoy. Expected vendors include Raising Hale Designs, D&D Creations, Mad Hatter and more. The festivities start at 10 a.m. and run all day, the address for Woodstock Beer Market is 240 Chambers St. (Visit Woodstock)
  3. There's a very special, back-to-school adoption event this morning at The Cherokee County Animal Shelter. To celebrate the new school year, all pets are free to adopt today, you can see them online here. There are some of the sweetest pups and cats looking for homes this week. Instructions are at the link for getting into the shelter's "virtual line." Adoption hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and the shelter is located at 1015 Univeter Road in Canton.   • Farm. Fresh. Market.: Every Saturday morning through Dec. 30, Market Street transforms into an open-air market, full of local vendors offering locally grown and created products. (8:30 a.m. - noon)
  • Practice Yoga with Tommasina: The class is great for beginners and includes a pint or coffee afterwards. You'll pay for the class at the door, please bring a mat and water with you to Reformation Brewery, 105 Elm St. (10 - 11 a.m.)
  • Kids Corner - Creative Collages: The kids will visit the "All the Fixins" exhibit and then create a 3D floral collage using painted paper. You can register at the link, the crafting session will be held at the Reeves House Studio, 734 Reeves St. (10:30 a.m.)
  • The Lasting Laugh: The evening of clean comedy is hosted by Jessica It's All Good at the Woodstock Arts Theatre, 8534 Main St. (7:30 p.m.)

  • Note from Nina: I'd like to extend the utmost gratitude to the members of the Woodstock Police and Fire departments that responded to the accident at Highway 92 and Trickum Road last night. Everyone was beyond professional, thorough, helpful and kind. Thank you.
  • The first LEGO Lab of the 2023-24 school year is happening at the Rose Creek Library today at 3 p.m. The event is for all ages, though children must be accompanied by an adult. The library is located at 4476 Towne Lake Parkway. (Sequoyah Regional Library System)
  • If you love board games and haven't taken part in The Blue Ghost's Board Game Night yet, the arcade is holding one tonight at 8 p.m. It's a great event for families and groups, and there are over 100 games to choose from.   • Coming up on Monday, it's Truck & Tap's Monday Night Trivia with Lights Up! Entertainment. It's so much fun to play along, and there's a prize for the winner.
