  1. A possible theft took place near West Wiley Bridge Road on Friday, and the Cherokee Sheriff's Office (CSO) is asking for the public's help in identifying a vehicle and person in the area at the time. The vehicle seen is thought to be a black, newer model Ford pickup truck, possibly an F250 or similar vehicle. The picture posted by the CSO shows a small trailer hitched to the truck and what appears to be an older male with grey hair and a short grey goatee. If you have any information, please contact the CSO at 770-928-0239 or 9-1-1, you can reference case SO23-011804. (Cherokee Sheriff's Office via Facebook)
  2. The Bryce Leatherwood concert is this Friday, and we've gotten some more information by way of the official Downtown Woodstock Facebook page. The concert is free and will go forward rain or shine. There will be free shuttles to get you to and from the Amphitheater area, and seating will work just like the Woodstock Summer Concert Series, in that you can put out your chairs beginning Thursday morning at 6 a.m. This show will likely be even more packed than most of the concerts downtown, so plan accordingly. You can read more about the event and keep up with any announcements on the Downtown Woodstock Facebook page or on the Woodstock Parks and Recreation website here. (Downtown Woodstock via Facebook)
  3. The next walking tour in Downtown Woodstock is coming up on Aug. 31, and this time, you'll check out the public art on display in the area. Tours depart from the Reeves House Visual Arts Center from 6 to 7:30 p.m., each tour takes about 45 minutes before returning to the Reeves House. On the "Woodstock Public Art Walking Tour," you'll learn about new art on display downtown and why art is important to our city. If you'd like to attend, you can sign up here. (Downtown Woodstock via Facebook)
  4. Who's down for a community scavenger hunt? The "Discover WDSTK Scavenger Hunt" will be running from Aug. 31 to Sept. 30, and it's a free, fun and creative way to explore the city we love. This is the ninth year for the hunt, and prizes this year include $100 in Downtown Dollars and other goodies donated by local businesses. You can download your clue sheet here beginning on Aug. 30 at 10 a.m., when the 2023 list will be uploaded. Hard copies of the sheet will also be available at the Visitors Center on the same date. Please see the link for the official rules, have fun out there! (Visit Woodstock)
