- If you've lost or found a pet in the county, the Cherokee County Animal Shelter can be a refuge for pets and a resource for you. The shelter has a Lost and Found page on their website, where you can fill out a form and submit a picture of the pet. Animals at the shelter are kept for 120 hours, after which, the shelter will begin the process of either putting the pet in a rescue or adopting them out. If you have lost your pet, be sure to check the shelter often and in person. If you've found a pet, you can fill out a report on the same page. (Cherokee County Animal Shelter via Facebook)
- Woodstock's Comprehensive Plan is getting an update, and we can help guide the outline for growth and change in our city. The city created a survey to hear what we think of the needs, goals, policies and opportunities stated in the Comprehensive Plan, which was adopted in 2018, and what updates we'd like to see. The survey is for anyone that lives, works or spends time in Woodstock, you can find it here, and the 2018 Comprehensive Plan is here. (Woodstock News Post)
- Our opinion here in town really matters, and the city is asking for us to share our ideas on future public art in Woodstock. The Public Art Survey is here, you can tell city leaders where you'd like to see more art, what themes you'd like to see, what you don't want to see and what you do. You can see the timeline and other project details on the survey webpage. There is a Public Art Happy Hour planned for July 13 at Reformation Brewery, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. (Woodstock News Post)
- The next in the Woodstock Parks and Recreation SKILLS series is coming up on July 20 at 6:30 p.m. The "SKILLS - Gun Safety" class will will be headed up by a firearm instructor from the Woodstock Police Department and will teach the importance of gun safety and storage. There will also be a question and answer session, and guidance will be given on pursuing further training on shooting and carrying. Attendees will receive a certificate upon completion, the class will be held at the William G. Long Senior Center Activity Center Expansion, 223 Arnold Mill Road. You can register here.
