  1. The Cherokee Sheriff's Office (CSO) is asking for the public's help in finding a missing man last seen on July 4. Matthew Harden, 30, is described as a white male, 5 feet, 9 inches tall and about 190 pounds with brown hair. He may be driving a black 2005 Toyota Camry.   2. In a gross rerun of late June events on Knox Bridge Highway, there has been another chicken parts spill in Cherokee County. This time around, the scene was on Cumming Highway near Hasty Trail, and the innards and bits closed the roadway down for around an hour while everything was cleaned up. No further information was given, and no injuries were reported. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
  3. Who's ready for some good, old-fashioned, neighborhood fun at the upcoming Community Block Party? The party hosted by the Sequoyah Regional Library System (SRLS) is planned for this Thursday, from 4 to 6 p.m. on the Event Green downtown. There will be lawn games, snacks and lots of fun activities. Bring a blanket or chair if you'd like, everyone is welcome, but all children must be accompanied by an adult. (SRLS Calendar)
  4. The Woodstock Police Department is hiring a training/administrative services coordinator. The position is full time and will consist of clerical and administrative work, administrative research in support of the Training and Administrative divisions. Applicants must be 18 years old or older with no felony convictions or certain criminal histories within the past seven years. The positions calls for someone that can speak, read and write in English with a typing speed of 50 words-per-minute or faster. You can read more about the position here.   5. The Cherokee Sheriff's Office is looking for a part-time school crossing guard. To apply, you must be at least 21 years old and a U.S. citizen or be legally qualified to work in the country. Applicants also need to have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license and be able to perform the job functions for the position.   • Vanessa Riley In-person Event: The FoxTale Book Shoppe is holding a book launch for the author's new book, "Queen of Exiles." The book shop is located at 105 E. Main St. (6:30 p.m.)
  • Woodstock History: Join local historian, Kyle Bennett, as he discusses our city's history at the Rose Creek Library, 4476 Towne Lake Parkway. (6:30 - 7:30 p.m.)
  • Mario Kart Tournament: All ages welcome, prizes for first, second and third place at The Blue Ghost Arcade, 164 Towne Lake Parkway. (8 - 10:30 p.m.)
