The Realtor will see you now

Imagine you had a realtor who was as attentive and caring to clients as, say, a great physician’s assistant was to patients in the operating room. The analogy might seem like a stretch, until you meet Michale Pena.

For much of her career, Michale has worked as a Surgical First Assistant to one of our area’s top orthopedic surgeons. It’s a demanding, high-stress job that requires the highest level of attentiveness, precision and service. Along the way, Michale, who has spent her whole life in the Woodstock area, started helping her medical colleagues solve another problem: figuring out where to live in our area’s tight housing market.

“Michale was fantastic from start to finish. She took all the stress off of us. She is a true professional, and we highly recommend her to anyone who is interested in buying or selling a home.”

Here are the top stories in Woodstock-Towne Lake today:

  1. It's official, the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners voted to lower the BOC-controlled millage rate during its meeting on Tuesday. As its stated, with a mill worth one-thousandth of a dollar, the rate of tax assessed for each $1,000 of our property value was unanimously approved and set at 4.954 mills for Maintenance & Operations, 2.764 mills for the Fire District and 0.319 mills for the Parks Bond. Also at the meeting, the rates set by the Board of Education were made official, coming out to 16.45 mills for the School Board Maintenance and Operations and 1.5 mills for the School Board Bond. You can read more about the BOC meeting topics at the link. (Cherokee County Communications Division)
  2. There are two more shows in this year's Woodstock Summer Concert Series, one this month and one next. Next week, on Aug. 12, the Van Halen tribute band Completely Unchained will be performing at the Northside Hospital-Cherokee Amphitheater, joined by the Guardians of the Jukebox. The last show is scheduled for Sept. 9, when the Atlanta-borne rock band Drivin' n' Cryin' and Angie Lynn Carter hit the stage. Be sure to visit the official website at the link for seating, parking and shuttle information. (Woodstock Summer Concert Series)
  3. The Sequoyah Regional Library System (SRLS) is holding two great events for us on Monday, as we jump feet first into the new school year. At the R.T. Jones Memorial Library at 4:30 p.m., celebrate the close of the summer and the library system's Summer Discovery programming with an End-of-Summer Celebration. As promised, the kids will get to see the library's executive director get a pie in the face if the goal of 1 million reading minutes has been met. At the Rose Creek Library, it'll be a fun night with family, friends and neighbors as the library pulls out all the board games for the Board Game Bash. Snacks will be available, and the fun starts at 4:30 p.m. for that one as well. You can see the full calendar at the link. (SRLS Calendar of Events)
