  1. Tonight is National Night Out, designed to help bring awareness to anti-crime and drug prevention efforts and to help strengthen the partnership between citizens and public safety agencies. The event will feature demonstrations, bounce houses, public safety equipment on display and activities for children and adults alike. Also participating are the GBI, DEA, Georgia State Patrol, Cherokee Sheriff's Office, E 9-1-1 and many more agencies. The event will run from 6 to 9 p.m. on The Green, which can be found at 111 Elm St. (Woodstock Police via Facebook)
  2. As a reminder, there's a Volunteer Trail Clean-up and Maintenance Day this weekend with Cherokee Recreation & Parks. You'll be cleaning up and beatifying a county park, though the exact location is to be determined. The Saturday clean-up runs from 9 a.m. to noon, and details will be sent out by the department as they are nailed down. Some tools will be provided, but if you have any hoes, rakes, shovels, loppers or trash pickers, please bring them along. You can register here, minors are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. (Cherokee Recreation & Parks via Facebook)
  3. It's time to register to vote, if you haven't already, and time to double check that your registration is up to date. The deadline to register is next week, on Oct. 10, and the Municipal Election will be happening on Nov. 7. We are also being asked our yea or nay on a $24 million bond that could both complete Little River Park and expand our local trail system. You can read more about Woodstock Municipal Elections, general election information, the potential bond in question and even register to vote from the Woodstockga.gov website here.
