  1. It's time to start getting ready for Riverfest in Canton, the fun starts at 10 a.m. today and tomorrow. Etowah River Park is the place to be this weekend for arts and crafts vendors, music, food and treat trucks and a kids' area with games, bouncy houses, a petting zoo, a miniature train ride and more. There's shade and tents, where you can eat and watch the musical performances and it's a great place to pick up unique gifts for loved ones, please check out the link for parking and shuttle information. (Service League of Cherokee County)
  2. The Cherokee Sheriff's Office is investigating a theft that took place at a bar on Towne Lake Parkway and is asking for our help in locating a person seen in the area during the theft. The individual the sheriff is looking for was last seen riding a dark-colored moped in the Towne Lake area, you can see pictures of the driver and the moped at the link. If you have any information, please reach out to the CSO Criminal Investigation Division at 770-928-0239 or 9-1-1, you can reference case SO23-013531. (Cherokee Sheriff's Office via Facebook)
  3. Adults ages 60 and up can now receive a single dose of the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) at the Cherokee County Health Department at 7545 North Main St. in Woodstock and at 1219 Univeter Road in Canton. Especially dangerous for those above 65, the health department is urging adults in that age group to get the vaccine. Submissions are currently being accepted for the third annual "small town: small works" exhibit, but the window closes on Sept. 25 at 11:59 p.m. Please note, submission doesn't guarantee your work's acceptance, and the review committee will avoid works that contain anything deemed offensive in nature. Participating artists must be 18 or older, please see the link for the rules, guidelines and submission details. (Woodstock Arts)
  5. As you're walking around downtown on weekend evenings, you're sure to hear live music coming from all different directions. Our downtown area is bursting with vibrant melodies about, and PURE Taqueria features music up on the roof that can be heard throughout the central area between Main and Chambers streets. Tonight, DJ Kizzy Rock will be on the roof from 7 to 11 p.m., and tomorrow, Tyler Walker will be playing live from 4 to 8 p.m. Please note, the performances are not held if it's raining.
