  1. If you couldn't make it out at the break of dawn yesterday to register for the Scarecrow Invasion at the Woodstock Visitors Center, you have another chance this morning. According to the official Downtown Woodstock Facebook page, after 200 spots were reserved yesterday morning, there were about 70 leftover. Registration will open back up today at 10 a.m., but as with the original sign-up event, the line will likely start forming much earlier. You can read more on the Visit Woodstock website here, the Visitors Center is located at 8588 Main St. (Downtown Woodstock via Facebook)
  2. There's always something going on in our area, and many of the official offerings come by way of Cherokee Recreation & Parks. If you have a business and are looking for chances to showcase your goods or services, the department has put the call out for event vendors and sponsors. Events coming up soon include the Touch-A-Truck on Sept. 16, Unwind Wednesday on Sept. 27 and Paws in the Pool on Oct. 1. There are opportunities throughout the year, for more information, head to the website here or reach out to jshallman@cherokeega.com. (Cherokee Recreation & Parks via Facebook)
  3. The 39th Annual Riverfest is coming up on Sept. 23 and 24 at Etowah River Park in Canton. The annual event draws huge crowds and features arts and crafts vendors, music, food and treat trucks and a kids' area with games, bouncy houses, a petting zoo, a miniature train ride and more. There's always plenty of shade under the tents, where you can eat and watch the musical performances and it's a great time to pick up unique gifts for loved ones. (Service League of Cherokee County)
