Here are the top stories today in Woodstock-Towne Lake:

  1. A Woodstock man was killed on Sunday afternoon in Grayson as he was picking up a relative. The victim, Rodrell Dobson, was shot in the driveway before the suspected shooter, Christian Houston, went back inside the home. When the SWAT team responded, Houston wasn't inside, and his whereabouts are still unknown. Investigators are asking that anyone with information about the suspect's location call 770-513-5300.   2. Cherokee County Recreation & Parks held a countywide Recreation Summit last week, calling county organizations to "come together, collaborate, educate and have fun," as they discussed park projects from around the area. Updates were given on current park projects and the SPLOST and Impacts Fees funding them, including the progression of the master plan development for the Hickory Flat Area Park in Canton. The announcement was also made that the county and cities within are working on the development of a county-wide trail plan, aimed at the expansion and connection of city trails.   3. Tomorrow is the "World's Largest Swim Lesson" at the Cherokee County Aquatic Center. The worldwide event will be happening at hundreds of other aquatic centers, swimming schools and water parks, too. The lesson will teach participants about water safety, you can learn more here. The event will start at noon, and participants will need to pay admission into The Oasis, the center's outdoor pool area. (Cherokee County Communications Division)
  4. The next in the Downtown Woodstock Pub Crawl Series is coming up on July 1. The "Star Spangled Pub Crawl" will run from 2 to 6 p.m. and will feature themed food and beverage specials at participating bars and restaurants around the downtown area. You'll pick up an entry form at the first place you visit and collect stamps from each place thereafter.   • "A Year with Frog and Toad" - For all ages, this play sends a message of friendship to kids. Catch the last performance at the Woodstock Arts Theatre, 8534 Main St. (10 a.m.)
  • Summer Music and Moves: For ages for and under, the kids will play instruments and have fun. Children must be accompanied by an adult to the fun at the Woodstock Library, 7735 Main St. (10:30 - 11:30 a.m.)
  • Agave 5 Course Pairing Dinner: The 5-course dinner pairing will be held in The Listening Room at Rootstock, 8558 Main St. (7 - 9:30 p.m.)
  • Dating Sim, But In Real Life: The Blue Ghost Arcade is holding the event for those 18 and up to mingle with other singles in the area.   • There's a ribbon-cutting ceremony today for a new clothing shop in Woodstock. Apricot Lane Boutique sells women's clothing and accessories, and they're located at 61 Linton St., Suite 2106. The ceremony will start at 11 a.m. (IN WDSTK)
  • Today is the day for $2 movies with the Regal Summer Movie Express. Bring the family over to Regal Cherokee to watch the first showing of the day on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. This week, you can watch "Minions: The Rise of Gru" or "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie," the theater address is 355 Cinema View. (Regal Cherokee)
  • There are still tickets available for tomorrow's "Public Art" walking tour, part of the Woodstock Walking Tour Series.   • There are also still spots available for this Thursday's "Community Preparedness 101" class, hosted by Cherokee Office of Emergency Management and Cherokee E 9-1-1. You'll learn how to protect your property in cases of severe weather and other disaster situations and get a look into how the E 9-1-1 Center works and how calls are handled. The class is at the L.B.   • Reformation Brewery has a super fun weekend planned, starting with a Tiki Night on Friday. They'll have luau-themed beer and cocktails, including an experimental Mai Tai on tap, and a live Caribbean band. The band will play from 7 to 9 p.m., but the party will go until 11 p.m. Next up is the brewery's Silent Disco party on Saturday. The party will go from 8 to 11:30 p.m., with 3 DJs and 100 headphones. The party is at 105 Elm St. (Reformation Brewery)
