- If you're entering one of your delicious pies in the Woodstock Pie Contest, you only have a few days left to print out the recipe and create your masterpiece. The contest is happening at the Farm. Fresh. Market. this Saturday, and contestants can submit one pie with at least one ingredient that would likely be found at a farmers market in Georgia. You'll turn your pie and recipe in at the City of Woodstock tent at the market, the complete rules can be found at the link. (Downtown Woodstock via Facebook)
- The next Family Fun Night is taking place on July 20 in Downtown Woodstock. The theme for the evening is "Return to Hogwarts," and Main and Chambers streets will be full of themed activities, costumed characters, and food and drink specials from 5 to 9 p.m. There will even be a costume contest and a free showing of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" on The Green. - If you're in the market for a job, Cherokee Recreation & Parks is hiring. The department has openings for front desk attendants, instructors, lifeguards and several others, and they offer part-time, flexible scheduling, room to advance and competitive pay. - You can meet officers from the Woodstock Police Department this morning at Black Rifle Coffee Company. The informal meet-and-greet is scheduled for 9 to 10:30 a.m., and it's a great opportunity to chat with some of Woodstock's finest. The address for Black Rifle Coffee Company is 10971 Highway 92. - Today is the Community Block Party, hosted by the Sequoyah Regional Library System (SRLS). The party runs from 4 to 6 p.m. on the Event Green at 111 Elm St., and there's lots of fun planned, including lawn games, snacks and activities for all. Bring a blanket or chair if you'd like, everyone is welcome, but all children must be accompanied by an adult. (SRLS Calendar)
- Also happening tonight, the Public Art Happy Hour is going on at Reformation Brewery from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Join your Woodstock neighbors in celebration of the city's public art, and if you'd like to share your thoughts on the future of art around town, you can take the Public Art Survey here. - Tomorrow's item of the day on the Cherokee Recreation & Parks' July calendar is to bring the kids to "Parent's Night Out" at the Aquatic Center. The registration deadline is today at 5 p.m., but a late registration option will be available until tomorrow. (Cherokee County Communications Division)
