Whole Nine Yarns, Sew Main Street Announce Closures
Both downtown Woodstock businesses will close in mid-February, the owner said.

WOODSTOCK, GA — The owner of two downtown Woodstock businesses have announced she will close up shop in mid-February. Sew Main Street and The Whole Nine Yarns will close on Feb. 15, according to social media posts. Both entities served as a gathering spot for those who are passionate about knitting and fabric.
"The relationships and friendships that have formed and grown from classes, special events, and weekly Knit Nights are treasures that my staff and I are most grateful for," owner Debi Light said on The Whole Nine Yarns Facebook page. "It is with a very heavy heart that I tell you the time has come for me to step away from the shops and devote my time and energy to family responsibilities, grandchildren, etc."
Light said she would entertain "serious conversations" about a purchase if anyone is interested in seeing both shops continue serving the community. According to its website, The Whole Nine Yarn has been up and running in downtown Woodstock since 2005. It operated on East Main Street near the Park at City Center for several years before relocating to 8826 Main Street. Sew Main Street, a quilt and fabric shop, opened next door at 8816 Main Street in 2012, its website adds.
