Here are the top stories in Boise today:

  1. As with most things, the weekend's Boise Pride Festival ended a three-day run with both supporters and detractors. KTVB-TV's Abby Davis reports thousands were in attendance even after numerous business supporters withdrew financial support at the urging of Dorothy Moon, Idaho Republican Party chairwoman. Along with speaking with organizers, Davis also spoke with a handful of protestors of the event for the article. (KTVB.com)
  2. Would you open your front door, invite in and set up a bed and dinner for Ben, or Pecky or Tito? Boise Patch is pleased to announce a new round of pets waiting to be adopted in the Boise area. (Boise Patch)
  3. If you are selling your Boise home, don't expect to receive the prices seen just months ago. BoiseDev editor Don Day reports the median price of a home in Ada County saw the steepest decline in more than three months, according to August reports. From a July high of $589,990, the August price dropped to $565,000. The decline marked the third straight month of Ada homes costing less. (boisedev)
  4. If you are filling up a Suburban or SUV, here is more good news. CBS news staff write gas prices dropped 4 cents in Boise last week. Boise is now averaging $4.55 per gallon, still higher than Idaho's average price of $4.44 per gallon. You may want to shop around as one station in Boise is reporting $4.23 per gallon. (Idaho News)
  5. Your favorite camping or hunting spot may have a new name. The Idaho Capital Sun's Clark Corbin writes the U.S. Department of Interior’s Board on Geographic Names has voted to approve replacement names for 650 places across the West effective immediately. 71 of those are in Idaho and were previously known as "Sq- Creek (or Squaw Butte near Boise)." A link to all the new names with former names is included in the article. (idahocapitalsun)
