Boise candy shop employing adults with disabilities set to close (boisedev.com) — A beloved Boise candy shop, Sweet Zola’s, which has spent seven years training and employing adults with disabilities, will close on December 31 because of financial struggles. The Boise-based program has helped nearly 80 neurodivergent adults gain real-world experience and move into other Treasure Valley jobs, and its owner is urging the community to remember her employees’ hard work and growth. 
2. Prosecutor: Boise Police officer justified in fatal shooting of suspect in 2024 hostage situation (ktvb.com) — A Gem County prosecutor has ruled that a Boise Police officer was justified in the 2024 fatal shooting of a man during a hostage situation at a Boise apartment complex. The memo cites video and witness accounts indicating the man advanced with a knife despite commands. No criminal charges will be filed, closing the case for local authorities.
3. Boise Airport selects mural artist for centennial celebration (idahobusinessreview.com) — Boise Airport has chosen local artist Chad Otis to create a large mural for its new rental car facility as part of the airport’s 100th birthday celebration. His design will highlight Boise landmarks, Idaho history, and the future of air travel, with installation planned for the ConRAC facility and a public dedication on April 6, 2026.
4. Daily bus service from Boise to Portland now in operation (koin.com) — Boise residents once again have daily bus service to Portland, with Northwestern Stage Lines now running a route that starts in Portland and ends in Nampa and Boise, including the Boise Airport. Funded partly by a federal grant through Oregon, the line restores crucial transportation for people without cars along the I-84 corridor and reconnects Boise to several rural communities.
