  1. The Caldwell School Board has decided to let the Idaho Legislature decide gender rights before tackling the subject in the Canyon County schools. IdahoEdNews reporter Darren Svan reports the board tabled a proposed gender rights policy, stating upcoming state legislation could clarify what actions districts could take. Standing in snow prior to the meeting, more than 100 patrons wanted to take part in the meeting. (idahoednews)
  2. A California-based company will be able to change an assisted living facility to traditional apartments but will have to wait one year, financially help residents move and agree to assist residents with their new rent. BoiseDev senior reporter Margaret Carmel reports the Boise Planning & Zoning Commission approved the change to Boise's Arbor Village on Philippi Street. The owners, DiNapoli Capital Partners, stated the facility is only 75 percent full and the costs residents pay is only paying a fraction of the cost needed to keep the facility open as an assisted living facility. 3. The commute to work on Valentine's Day in Boise was not heart friendly. KTVB-TV staff report a combination of storms Monday evening and early Tuesday morning kept law enforcement busy with several crashes and slide offs. If you were coming in from Canyon County, Interstate 84 was also congested and icy in spots. (ktvb)
  4. Interested in living in the neighborhood above Borah High School? Maybe down in Parkcenter? Perhaps downsizing to a two bedroom? Boise Patch offers these homes and more in today's real estate roundup. (Boise Patch)
  5. Maybe the accommodations at the Canyon County Jail are not so bad. CBS2 news staff report 27-year-old Joshua Dylan Jensen was released from jail the morning of Feb. 7. Just hours later, Jensen stole a vehicle, lead police on a pursuit, crashed the stolen vehicle, and ran away on foot. The reason Jensen was released from jail was he paid his bail, set by Magistrate Judge John Meienhofer, of $25. (idahonews)
