We provide a list of Boise open houses for you and your chance to grab a cold one at the Eastside Tavern is coming to an end. Here are the top stories today in Boise:
- Strap on those boots, spring skiing is looking good. CBS2's Nathan Larsen provides the update Bogus Basin is reporting 6 inches of snowfall in the last 24-hours. We may see record lows in the valley on Thursday, but the weekend is expected to bounce back to normal. This is the time of year that is special in Boise. You can play 18-holes of golf and ski the slopes all in one day. (Idaho News)
- A Boise man is facing a possible lifetime of paralysis after being hit by a drunk driver. Even more sad, Ed Bruce started, owned and operated a service car and driver service, where he and one of his employees will pick up anyone who has been drinking and make sure they, along with their car, get home safe. KTVB's Shirah Matsuzawa tells the story. (KTVB.com)
- With the weekend weather expected to return to a normal Boise spring, you may want to tour some open houses taking place around the city. Get directions and times at Boise Patch. (Boise Patch)
- At one time, not so many years ago, most Boise neighborhoods had a local dive bar. Some (The Trolley burned down in an unsolved arson fire in 2006) closed before their time was up, but most disappeared due to owners passing, changes in zoning laws or just Boise making a change in lifestyle. Cheap beer, a dart board and the same five people sitting on the bar stools were the norm. Now, according to LITE-FM's Michelle Heart, Boise will see one more close as the Eastside Tavern and their landlord failed to come to terms after 30 years in the same location. (LiteOnline.com)
- Using data from the recent 2020 census, the City of Boise is preparing to start the process for once again redistricting the city into six districts for the next election. BoiseDev senior reporter Margaret Carmel writes all six council seats will be up, half of them for four-year terms and the other half for two-year terms to put the elections back on a staggered schedule for the 2023 election.
