  1. Three juveniles have been charged with trespassing and other charges may follow after an incident at Boise Towne Square Mall on Tuesday. CBS2 news staff write Boise Police were dispatched to the local mall after reports of a person with a gun. Officers found a number of juveniles with airsoft guns (guns using plastic BBs). Five juveniles, previously ordered not to return to the mall due to past incidents, were involved. (IdahoNews)
  2. An Eagle man is guilty again. KTVB-TV staff report Adam Paulson has again been found guilty of vehicular manslaughter in the crash that killed a woman in November 2017. Paulson was originally found guilty in 2018 of driving under the influence of alcohol when he struck and killed Madeline Duskey just after midnight Nov. 18, 2017, while Duskey was walking across Eagle Road at Riverside Drive. In 2022, the Idaho Supreme Court determined the jury in Paulson's first trial had been given improper instructions. (KTVB)
  3. Will Idaho soon reach clear into Oregon? The IdahoCapitalSun's Clark Corbin reports two Idaho legislators are sponsoring a memorial to urge the Oregon Legislature to begin discussions with the Idaho Legislature about the potential to relocate the Idaho/Oregon border. Dubbed Greater Idaho, the idea has an uphill battle. Both the Idaho Legislature and Oregon Legislature would agree to the idea and Congress would also have to approve. In addition, there currently exists a number of differences in the two states including major policy differences on minimum wage, marijuana, sales tax and income tax rates between Idaho and Oregon. 4. Inflation. Rising gas prices. Bitter cold temperatures. To add to the grief, now no Tagalongs or Do-si-dos. KIDO-AM's Michelle Heart provides the bad news the Idaho Girl Scouts are switching bakers of the famous cookies and with the switch comes new names. To discover the new name your favorite cookie may have, take a look at the article. (kidotalkradio)
  5. We all know the Treasure Valley has some great restaurants and great chefs, but now others know the same. The Boise Weekly's Jeanne Huff announces four local chefs have been announced in the 2023 James Beard Awards for Restaurant and Chef Semifinalists. Those named included Caldwell's Salvador Alamilla, Boise's Kris Komori, Boise's Kibrom Milash and Boise's Dan Ansotegui. In this era of open journalism, I admit I knew Ansotegui when he was making and bringing peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to Sacred Heart School many years ago. (boiseweekly)
