Today's Boise Briefing has a mix of good and bad news. Starting with the bad, one organization has deemed the Snake River as most endangered in the nation. However, the Clearwater River just produced a state record steelhead! A movie is due out on the most talked about mother in Idaho and the Idaho Legislature shoots down another bill. Lastly, you may want to think twice about tearing down the 51-year old building in the backyard.

1. Being number one is usually a good thing, but according to Idaho Rivers United, Idaho's own Snake River if now America's number one most endangered river of 2021. This is according to the organization, American Rivers. The organization cites the need for salmon recovery, the need for obligations to Native Americans and clean energy and technology.

2. A Boise man has a fish story to tell-a really big one. As reported by CBS2-TV, Scott Turner is the new Idaho record holder after snagging a nearly 40-inch steelhead on the Clearwater River. The fish beat the previous record by 1.25 inches.
3. Keeping with CBS2-TV, an upcoming Lifetime move is due out based on the true story of Lori Daybell, the eastern Idaho mother of two dead children with questions surrounding other deaths.

4. The $1.1 billion budget for teacher salaries has been killed in the Idaho House as reported by the Idaho Capital Sun. Citing concerns that social justice and critical race theory teachings were taking place, the vote died on a 34-34 tie.
5. If you are looking to demolish that old shed behind the house, you may want to update yourself on the new rules the Boise City Council set on demolition. BoiseDev reports on the new regulations set for buildings over 50 years of age.
