Boise Briefing: Rape Arrest; Goodwood Founder Death; Wildflowers

Here is today's Boise Briefing, packed with news from around the city. A Salt Lake City man has been arrested after two years of work by Boise Police detectives. The Idaho Legislature continues to move to the right according to a guest columnist while the Boise School District looks to fill an opening. 1. After two years of work, an arrest of a Utah man has been made in the attack and sexual attack of a Boise jogger in the Charter Pointe subdivision. As reported by KTVB-TV, Nicholas Campbell sits in a Salt Lake City jail awaiting extradition back to Boise to face a number of felony charges related to the November, 2018 incident. Investigators used DNA matching in part to make the arrest.

2. Guest columnist Chuck Malloy offers his point of view on the Idaho political scene to the Idaho Capital Sun stating Lt. Gov. McGeachin and lawmakers continue a steady march to the right.

3. The Boise School District has a vacancy on the board and three finalists have been named according to Nic Streng of IdEdNews. Andy Hawes, Doug Holloway, and Christy Little will interview Monday with plans to name the new board member afterward.

4. Mike Mantooth, co-founder of Boise's Goodwood Barbecue died last week. BoiseDev takes a look at the legacy of Mantooth and some of the food offered at the Boise restaurant.
