The stories abound in today's Boise Briefing including how one family's vacation became extended in Mexico. Saturday is the birthday of the county's namesake and a Boise landmark is again open and ready for customers. Boise residents can now play bocce ball downtown and one Idaho inmate will not be playing bocce ball for some time.

1. We all enjoy a family vacation to an exotic destination. But, according to KTVB-TV, one Boise family became stranded in Mexico after testing positive for COVID-19 while vaccinated.

2. Saturday marks the birthday of Ada Riggs. Most will not know Ms. Riggs, but her first name, Ada, should be familiar. In an additional story offered by KTVB-TV, the namesake of Ada County is offered.

3. The Roosevelt Market, an east Boise landmark, is again open after closing doors in 2018. BoiseDev reports on the new owners and the new menu offered at the remodeled cafe.

4. If you cannot go another day without a game of bocce ball, BoiseDev offers an additional story on the new court and putting green set right in the heart of downtown. Built by the building owner, Oppenheimer Development Corp., the area is open to the public during certain hours.

5. Harlan Hale, the leader of a white supremacist prison gang in Idaho, has been sentenced to life in prison according to a report by the Idaho Press. Hale was the leader of the Aryan Knights, a prison gang trafficing methamphetamine and using violence when debts went unpaid.
