- After a rough few months including a lawsuit, Boise's mayor has asked the city's police chief to step aside.

- The City of Boise is again without a police chief. KTVB-TV reports Boise Mayor Lauren McLean requested Boise Police Chief Ryan Lee resign after the close of business Friday. Lee's resignation is effective immediately, however he will be paid through Oct. 14. Lee was with the Portland Police Bureau before coming to Boise in the summer of 2020. (KTVB.com)
- The mornings are starting to be a little chilly and thoughts are turning to what costume to wear for Halloween. CBS2 news staff assist you in planning the upcoming month by introducing haunted houses in the Treasure Valley. Plan ahead as some of these sell out early. (Idaho News)
- In less than seven minutes almost one year ago, Boise Towne Square mall was on the minds of many across the nation. A shooter walked into the crowd of shoppers and started firing. The Times News carries an article penned by Idaho Statesman reporters Ian Max Stevenson and Mia Maldonado. After pouring through hundreds of pages of police reports, witness statements and investigative reports, more information is known about the shooting and the shooter. (Times-News)
- A new building in Boise will be named after former Republican Governor Phil Batt. The Idaho Capital Sun's Christina Lords writes the new education center for Boise’s Wassmuth Center for Human Rights is scheduled to be built adjacent to the Anne Frank Memorial in downtown Boise. The center’s Building Our Future campaign to fund construction of the project has raised $4.7 million towards the goal of $5.5 million. (idahocapitalsun)
- If you wish to grab a beer and watch a BSU football game or the NFL on a Sunday, your choice of a bar in which to get together with friends is numerous. Now, according to BoiseDev editor Don Day, there is also a bar to gather with friends to catch a televised game of international sports like soccer, rugby, Formula 1, tennis and more. (boisedev)
