- Boise City Council member Patrick Bageant has announced that he will be stepping down at the end of his term to prioritize his family, particularly after the birth of his daughter in May. Despite not being affiliated with a political party, Bageant received praise from other party-affiliated council members for his service and dedication. - After serving for 18 years as a representative for the Boise Bench, Rep. Sue Chew has announced her retirement from the Idaho Legislature. Chew, the longest-serving Democrat in the state legislature, endorsed Natalie MacLachlan as her successor, stating that she believes MacLachlan has the necessary energy, passion, and dedication to serve District 17. - Boise State football players made a comeback to the diamond after four years for a friendly Summer Softball Classic. The event featured a home run derby between current players and former Boise State standouts, with Kekaula Kaniho leading the alumni team with 13 home runs in the opening round. Quarterback Maddux Madsen emerged as the champion with 16 home runs, and the defense prevailed in the softball game with a 14-12 victory over the offense.
