Here are the top stories in Boise today:
- Even with high winds and temperatures in the teens, local high school skiers and snowboarders gathered at Bogus Basin after taking part in competitions over a six-week period. KIVI-TV's Steve Dent reports the teens gathered to take part in the annual Dotty Clark Memorial Race. (Idaho News 6 Boise Twin Falls)
- Those filing false reports of child abuse could face criminal charges if a current piece of legislation is approved. The IdahoCapitalSun's Audrey Dutton reports the bill reads “a false report of child abuse, abandonment or neglect knowing such report to be false, or who makes such report in bad faith, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.” A social worker representing the Idaho Health and Welfare submitted testimony stating false reporting takes up time and expense with the state agency and ultimately harms the process of child protection.
