The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Boise.

Hello all. John Braese here with your Tuesday edition of the Boise Daily, filled with everything you need to know about what's happening locally. Without further ado...
Welcome to the Tuesday edition of the Boise Daily. We start this short work week with a weather story of a heat burst. A mass of motorcycles are set to ride on July 10 for a good cause and new jobs are out there and waiting for you. According to a few engineers, Highway 55 is safe for drivers and imagine you can purchase an illegal item in the state as long you promise to use it elsewhere-only in Idaho.

Here are the top stories today in Boise:
- Boise is known for having rare and unusual items, but Sunday night, winds exceeded 70 miles per hour in a phenomenon known as a 'heat burst'. KTVB-TV Bri Eggers reports a heat burst is described as “caused when a shower or thunderstorm weakens over a layer of dry air.” The National Weather Service reports the occurrence is rare. (KTVB.com)
- If you wish to hear the thunder of Harley motors and see lots and lots of chrome, July 10 is the date. CBS2 news staff announce the Idaho Patriot Thunder Ride will take place July 10 starting at High Desert Harley Davidson. Proceeds from the ride benefit the Idaho National Guard Family Support Fund & Operation Warm Heart. (idahonews)
- So this week may be a short one due to the holiday, but that is still time to pick up that new job. Boise Patch offers a listing of who is hiring in the Boise area including the Veterans Hospital, building materials associate, sales positions and more. (Boise Patch)
- Driving on Highway 55 is safe according to a third-party engineer on a project on the Boise to McCall route. BoiseDev reporter Margaret Carmel continues to follow up on a number of articles dealing with the highway prone to slides. According to the article, two engineers recently visited the construction site, stating eight of nine rock cuts to stabilize the area are "substantially complete". (boisedev)
- You may have spent last night watching your neighbors light off fireworks illegal under Boise code. No, they did not travel to another state or purchase these airborne rockets, but simply stayed within Idaho and purchased the fireworks with a simple promise not to shoot them off here at home. LITE-FM's Kevin Miller explains the Idaho Fireworks Act of 1997, basically an honor system that is unenforceable. (liteonline)
