The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Boise.

Hello all. It's me, John Braese, your host of the Boise Daily — back in your inbox with all the most important things happening in town these days. I'll get right to it.
A new month, a new week and a new Monday. We open all this newness with a Boise house fire and thankfully, no injuries. Camp fires are now banned at a local recreation site and more than a few fish are scheduled to be released this month in local waters. A DNA expert explains evidence soon to be introduced in a Boise trial is not as easy as television and law enforcement needs your help in finding a Boise man missing in the mountains outside the capital city.

Here are the top stories today in Boise:
- Heavy smoke throughout a home has displaced a Boise family. KTVB-TV staff report the fire was reported Saturday on Castlebar Dr. around 3:30 p.m. The fire was active in only one room, but smoke damage in other rooms forced the family out of the residence. The Burnout Fund helped provide assistance to the family with the cause yet to be determined. (KTVB.com)
- Our hot, dry weather has resulted in no campfires at a popular area. The Idaho Capital Sun's Mia Maldonado lets recreationists know a campfire ban at Celebration Park started July 26. Propane camp stoves are still allowed at the popular site offering educational activities, camping, fishing and boating access along the Snake River. (idahocapitalsun)
- A little more outdoor news if you are willing to make a short drive to eastern Idaho. The Idaho State Journal carries a story by Idaho Fish and Game of the release of over 10,000 catchable-sized rainbow trout at various locations during August. In addition to exactly the location where the releases occur, the article also includes camping options close to the great fishing. (idahostatejournal)
- Watching television, a crime occurs, DNA is tested, an arrest is made and the crime solved all within one hour (including commercials). In our continuing effort to keep Boise Daily followers updated on the Chad and Lori Daybell murder cases, East Idaho News reporter Nate Eaton conducts a video taped interview with a forensic science expert who has investigated around 10,000 deaths during his career. Joseph Scott Morgan explains consumptive DNA testing, what it involves, what happens during an autopsy and how crucial DNA evidence testing is during a trial. (eastidahonews)
- The Boise Police Department is asking the public for help in finding a missing Boise man. CBS2 news staff pass on information about James, last seen July 27 and with a last cell phone ping near Idaho City. A photo of the missing man, along with a description of his vehicle, is included in the story. (idahonews)
