Happy Tuesday, Boise! Let's get you all caught up on what's happening locally to start today off on an informed note.

Welcome to the Tuesday edition of the Boise Daily. Although this is May, not January, Boise saw snow on Monday — actually 4 inches of the white stuff. North End residents need to find a detour for eight weeks, and we introduce you to the college's commencement speaker. A local intersection, already a nightmare, may soon by much busier and we let you in on who is putting money into our upcoming primary.

Here are the top stories today in Boise:

  1. It is May and we have snow! KTVB-TV staff report power was out for nearly 1,000 customers and Boise recorded 0.4 inches of snow after our Monday storm. Bogus Basin picked up 10 inches of the white stuff. Remember, temperatures are expected to be near 80 degrees by Sunday. Boise Patch would be happy to showcase your photos of our post Mother's Day storm. Send your pictures to john.braese@patch.com. (KTVB)
  2. For our North End friends, take note. CBS2 news staff warn 11th Street will be closed as crews install a waterline from Lemp to West Fort Street. The closure will take about eight weeks. (idahonews)
  3. Boise Patch is pleased to introduce readers to the Boise State University 2022 Commencement Speaker, Kenny Houston. After graduating, Houston will continue at BSU in the accelerated master's program. (Boise Patch)
  4. The current site of the Aquarium of Boise may soon house more than fish. BoiseDev editor Don Day writes an unidentified developer is requesting permission to build a six-story apartment building on the corner of Franklin and Cole roads. The complex would house 170 apartments. An additional developer has plans for an apartment complex on the site of the former Sears store at Boise Town Square. (boisedev.com)
  5. As the political money pours into Idaho before the May primary, the Idaho Capital Sun's James Dawson looks at one of the most well-funded political action committees (PAC), the Alliance of Idaho. Dawson finds the group, after already spending over $50,000 on Facebook ads, is comprised of a California tomato processor, a Pennsylvania chiropractor, a North Carolina precious metals dealer and others.
