🌱 Boise Parade Returns + Flying Less Than Driving + Big Time Hockey
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Boise.

Hello all. It's me, John Braese, your host of the Boise Daily — back in your inbox with all the most important things happening in town these days.
Welcome to the Thursday edition of the Boise Daily. Plan now for next year, sitting on a curb with a bag for candy as our local parade is making a comeback. A Boise man will serve at least 15 years in prison for a local murder, and we offer you some destinations for travel, all for $100. Summer is the time for open houses and big-time hockey is headed to Boise.

Here are the top stories today in Boise:
- For the past three years, residents of Boise have celebrated the Fourth of July minus a parade. For almost 20 years, the Barrett family organized the We The People 4th of July Liberty Day Parade before stepping away in 2021 after COVID canceled the event in 2020. KTVB carries a story by the Idaho Press announcing beginning in 2023, Treasure Valley-based CapEd Credit Union will step up with both financial assistance and volunteers to bring back the parade. (KTVB.com)
- A Boise man will serve at least 15 years in prison and possibly 40 years for murdering a local Marine. CBS2 news staff report Devon Arnold was sentenced Tuesday for shooting Lance Cpl. Davis Mosqueda in December 2020 at a Boise apartment complex. (Idaho News)
- With gas prices continuing to rise, $100 of fuel may be enough to drive to Twin Falls or Baker, Oregon, depending on your vehicle. LITE-FM's Mateo writes of airline flights for that same $100 amount leaving Boise to six destinations. These are flights to California, Washington and the Idaho/Utah border for less than the cost of filling up a Chevrolet Suburban. (LiteOnline.com)
- Boise Patch is pleased to once again offer you four Boise open houses of homes currently on the market and waiting for new owners. (Boise Patch)
- The National Hockey League will be in Boise in October. 104.3-FM's Michelle Heart carries the announcement from the Boise Steelheads the Las Vegas Knights and Arizona Coyotes will play an exhibition game Oct. 8 at Idaho Central Arena. Tickets will be available for purchase Aug. 10. (1043wowcountry)
