Boise Parents Urged To Apply For Benefits Due To School Closures
The Boise School District has opened registration for assitance to children who have lost access to school meals due to pandemic.

BOISE, ID—Idaho has applied to the USDA to provide a new Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) card for children who have lost access to free or reduced-price school meals due to school closures. This is part of the U.S. government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

If the P-EBT program is approved, eligible school children would receive temporary emergency nutrition benefits loaded on to new EBT cards that can be used to purchase food. Eligible children are those who have qualified in the 2020-2021 school year for free or reduced priced meals either through a meal application or through direct certification.

Although this benefit is still awaiting U.S. Department of Agriculture approval, students must qualify for meal benefits by May 1, 2021 in order to be considered for this upcoming P-EBT payment. We encourage you to apply if you feel your child will qualify. Payments will be sent to each child’s primary contact listed in each student's Infinite Campus account. If you need to verify who this contact is, please contact your school.
Details on free and reduced price meals can be found on Boise School District’s Food & Nutrition Services website. Meal applications can be completed online through the Food & Nutrition Service website or by completing a paper application. Paper applications can be found at your child’s school, the BSD District Services Center, 8169 W. Victory Rd., Boise, ID or by contacting the Food & Nutrition Services office at 208-854-4090.
