Before we highlight today's stories, a question for our readers-what is your family's tradition on Christmas Eve, one present, no presents, something else? The Boise Daily opens today with a story not making much sense. A child is dead in Boise and a Boise man sits in jail, charged. The Boise Daily has an idea for the soccer player in your family and a new group has formed to take back the Idaho Legislature. Here are the top stories today in Boise:
- There are times we, like you, read a story and it ends with more questions than answers. CBS2 news staff, along with other local media outlets, reported the death of a 94-year-old man from Eagle dying in an auto accident in the early evening hours Wednesday. The vehicle flipped 9.5 miles up Bogus Basin Road with the sole occupant dead at the scene. The story is straight forward, but begs for answers to questions we all ask. Why would a man from Eagle be that far up a road to a ski area at that time of night at his advanced age? Was he planning on some night skiing or picking up someone or driving a snowy, narrow road for reasons not related to our local ski area? Sometimes, the facts of a story just don't add up. (Idaho News)
- A Boise man, out of prison and on parole, has been charged with felony injury to a child in connection with the death of his infant daughter. Kody Durfee's 10-day-old daughter died the night of Dec. 15 at a home in the area of Desert Avenue and South Cole Road. (Boise Patch)
- If part of your child's Christmas gifts included a new soccer ball or goalie gloves, Bronco Sports has an idea how to break in those new presents. Registration for Boise State Women's Soccer Winter Finishing and Goalkeeping Academy is now open. (broncosports.com)
- A new political action committee has been formed with an emphasis on ousting extremists from the Idaho Legislature. The Idaho Capital Sun's Clark Corbin introduces Take Back Idaho, a group of former Idaho government, business and agriculture leaders supporting candidates who support schools and public education. (idahocapitalsun)
- An alternative to eggnog on Christmas Eve could be a Bloody Mary. LITE-FM's Nikki West provides a guide to where to get the best Bloody Mary's in the valley. (liteonline)

Fact of the Day:
Mary Tudor, or Mary I of England, was a fascinating woman and is remembered for the hundreds of Protestants she murdered in the name of Catholicism. This is how she got her nickname "Bloody Mary." She died on November 17, 1558. It also believed that the Bloody Mary drink is named for her.
