Hello, everybody! It's me, John Braese, your host of the Daily. Let's get this Wednesday started off right, with a quick guide to everything you need to know about what's going on in town.

We start the Wednesday edition of the Boise Daily with a sentence handed down to a Boise woman who made the trip to Washington D.C. to storm the Capitol. A Boise man wanted in the shooting death of a Nampa woman is now in custody, and a new trustee has been named for the West Ada School District. New jobs are out there and we have the information you need to apply, and air travelers are encouraged to show up this summer in Boise.

Here are the top stories in Boise today:

  1. A Boise woman who participated in both the attacks on the U.S. Capitol and the Idaho State Capital will spend two months in jail followed by three years of probation. KTVB-TV's Jeremy Stiles reports Pamela Hemphill was sentenced Tuesday after a plea deal was reached for one misdemeanor count of demonstrating, parading or picketing in the U.S. Capitol Building. Hemphill said her actions were similar to cheering on a football team at a game. (KTVB)
  2. Staying with crime for our second story, a Boise man is in custody after the shooting death of a Nampa woman. KIVI-TV's Meredith Spelbring writes Junior Gamboa, also known as Alfonso Emmanuel Leon, was arrested Monday. Gamboa was wanted after 20-year-old Julie Isabel Martinez was found with a gunshot wound by police early Sunday morning at a home in Nampa. Martinez later died at a local hospital. (Idaho News 6 Boise Twin Falls)
  3. The West Ada School District has a new trustee. IdahoEdNews reporter Devin Bodkin introduces David Binetti, a management consultant who organized the Smile West Ada campaign in 2021 urging masks be optional in the largest school district in Idaho. Binetti replaces Rusty Coffelt, who resigned in February citing family matters. (idahoednews)
  4. Employers in Boise are searching for help and Boise Patch has the newest employment opportunities this week. Take a look and see if one of these positions was written just for you. (Boise Patch)
  5. If your summer plans involve flying out of the Boise Airport, be early — really early. LITE-FM's Parker Kane writes more airlines, more flights, and a parking garage undergoing renovations translates to a crowded airport and longer lines to board a plane. Airport officials are urging passengers to arrive two hours before scheduled departure. (liteonline)
