Welcome to the Sunday edition of the Boise Daily. Friday night on the Boise Bench saw a murder by stabbing and one writer is asking if the Boise Police recently decided to hastily when it decided no college was needed for employment. A local school district is looking for employees, possibly you and our local food truck neighborhood is sounding an alarm. Finally, the city will soon have one additional daytime homeless shelter.

- A stabbing incident late Friday night has left one man dead and a second man in custody. KTVB-TV staff write police were called to a home on South Orchard Street near West Franklin Road on the Boise Bench. Upon arrival, a man in the home was declared dead due to stab wounds and 39-year-old Jorge Lossi was detained and later charged with second-degree murder. (KTVB.com)
- The Boise Daily recently reported the decision by the Boise Police Department to no longer require college before consideration to be hired as a police officer. In an editorial penned by Bryan Clark and carried by the Magic Valley Times News, Clark writes a decision of this magnitude deserves more discussion, citing a study stating less educated police are involved in more actions that cause the deaths of unarmed citizens and of Black citizens. Clark further argues upping the pay level of officers would bring better qualified individuals. (Times-News)
- The search for qualified personnel is not limited to law enforcement. CBS2news staff report the West Ada School District is holding a job fair on Monday, Aug. 22 at the District Service Center. A number of positions are open and need people and the list is included in the article. (idahonews)
- A great place to grab a quick bite to eat when no one in your party agrees is the gathering of local food trucks. KIDO-AM's Mateo sends out the word these vendors of cuisine have announced the City of Boise have warned the food trucks alcohol, a major source of revenue for these businesses, will no longer be allowed. The trucks are asking patrons for assistance in the form of writing/contacting the city over the recent decision. (kidotalkradio)
- The City of Boise is expanding services to the homeless after purchasing a building on Americana Boulevard. BoiseDev senior reporter Margaret Carmel reports the Boise City Council approved to spend $1.55 million to operate a daytime center in the former location of The Phoenix. The building was used this past winter as a warming shelter. (boisedev)
