Here are the top three stories in Boise today:
- Boise State University has established a new School of the Environment with a mission to address critical environmental challenges in Idaho and beyond. The school will offer degree programs in environmental science and environmental management, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to problem-solving. Faculty members from various disciplines have collaborated to design the school, fostering connections and partnerships across campus and with community organizations to promote innovative and sustainable solutions. - West Ada School District's school nutrition services are organizing free feeding events for children during the summer, providing healthy and delicious meals. These events, funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, are open to all children aged one to 18, regardless of their enrollment in West Ada schools. The event will kick off Thursday from noon to 12:45 p.m. at Tully Park in nearby Meridian. (Idaho Press)
- On Jun. 2 at around 9:14 p.m., Elizabeth Sorg, a 37-year-old woman from Boise, was tragically hit by a vehicle on the 700 block of West Poplar Street. Despite efforts to save her life, she was pronounced dead at 9:42 p.m. at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. The Ada County Coroner's Office has classified her death as a homicide, with the cause attributed to blunt force injuries. (Idaho 2 News)
