Welcome to the Wednesday edition of the Boise Daily. Our Monday storm brought more than a few headaches to Boise, especially for North End residents. A new phone scam is targeting those on the sex offender registry, and the state if offering help to parents needing financial assistance with education supplies. A church, not a corporation, is the largest landowner in Idaho, and a candidate for governor is asking abortions be made illegal in cases of rape and incest.

- Boise's North End felt the brunt of Monday's storm as tree trunks and branches scattered streets and lawns. CBS2 Ariana Pyper posts some pictures of the damage and speaks with property managers scrambling to find tree services to clear the damage. (idahonews)
- The latest phone scam hitting Boise is targeting registered sex offenders in the area. Boise Patch carries a story from the Ada County Sheriff's Office warning the county does not request persons over the phone to place money on a prepaid card to "clear a warrant." The latest scam involves people posing as sheriff's deputies. (Boise Patch)
- If your family needs assistance in covering the cost of a laptop, internet access, learning materials, or physical or occupational therapy., the Idaho State Board of Education may be of assistance. IdahoEdNews reporter Devin Bodkin reports an online form is available for parents after the state approved $50 million in the program, Empowering Parents Grants. (idahoednews)
- Have you ever wondered who owns the most amount of land in Idaho? LITE-FM's Nikki West looked into multiple records and found the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints eclipses corporations, owning nearly 60,000 acres valued at $128.4 million. (liteonline)
- Idaho Lt. Governor and current candidate for governor Janice McGeachin is calling for a special session and asking legislators to remove rape and incest as exceptions to Idaho's newly adopted abortion law. KTVB-TV carries the story from Idaho Press reporter Betsy Russell where McGeachin states, "No child should ever be murdered because of the circumstances surrounding his or her conception.” (ktvb)
