Boise Students May Need To Opt In For Sex Education
The proposed change would require parents to opt in for sex education, changing the current opt out option.

BOISE, ID—The Idaho Senate will now consider a bill mandating parents needing to opt in sexual education for Idaho students after the Idaho House passed the legislation, 56-12 on a party line vote.
The bill, sponsored by Idaho Falls Republican Barbara Ehardt, reverses the current method of teaching sexual education. Parents are now required to opt out if they don't want their child to receive sexual education in the classroom.
Under the new bill, parents would need to provide two weeks notice written permission for any lesson or reading assignment involving human sexuality.
