Here are the top three stories today in Boise:
- The Boise Twilight Criterium, now in its 36 years, is set to take place in downtown Boise. Professional and amateur crit racers will compete in this fast-paced, closed-circuit race on Saturday. The event is part of the American Criterium Cup, featuring a combined total series prize of $500,000 for men and women competitors. Spectators can enjoy the race for free and are encouraged to visit the Fan Expo Area at Cecil D. Andrus Park, which will have various amenities and activities. (KTVB 7)
- The family members of Roberto Padilla Arguelles, one of the victims in the shooting at the Boise Towne Square Mall, have filed a lawsuit alleging that the mall's management and local officials did not take sufficient measures to prevent the violent attack. The suit, filed in Ada County's Fourth District Court, names several parent companies associated with the mall, the mall's security company, the City of Boise, Ada County, and the State of Idaho as defendants. The complaint highlights previous encounters between the shooter, Jacob Bergquist, and law enforcement, arguing that the defendants were aware of the risks posed by Bergquist but failed to take appropriate action. - A man from Boise has been arrested and charged with Felony Injury to a Child after emergency responders found an unresponsive baby with significant injuries. Boise Police Violent Crimes and Special Victim's Units are conducting an investigation into the incident. The suspect, Cameron Stephens, has been booked into the Ada County Jail, while the baby is receiving medical treatment and is reported to be in stable condition. (Idaho 2 News)

- Yoga For Life At Sandy Point (11:00 AM)
From my notebook:
- With West Nile Virus detected in Ada County, it is crucial to take precautions against mosquitoes. Besides biting, mosquitoes are attracted to standing water, so it's essential to eliminate it. Emptying flowerpots, pet dishes (refill with fresh water daily), buckets, and old tires can help reduce mosquito breeding sites and protect you and your family. (Ada County via Facebook)
- Get ready for Opera in the Park! On Saturday, Jul. 8 Opera Idaho will be performing at Julia Davis Park in Boise. Don't forget to mark your calendars and bring your picnic baskets, lawn chairs, and blankets to this outdoor concert. (Opera Idaho via Facebook)
- Celebrate National Fry Day with the Boise Hawks and Lamb Weston at Memorial Stadium on Thursday, Jul. 13. Enjoy half-priced fries until the fourth inning of the game. (Boise Hawks via Facebook)
