Here are the top stories today in Boise:

  1. According to the National Women's Law Center, Idaho ranks 45th for gender pay equity in the United States. The BoiseWeekly's Jeanne Huff reports a group of approximately 100 women gathered Monday, March 13 at the state capital in an effort to close the pay gap in the state. (boiseweekly)
  2. The skyline of Boise could soon look very different. BoiseDev editor Don Day reports a Washington company has plans to construct a 40-story apartment building along Front St. between 10th St. and 11th St. If built, the structure would be the tallest in Idaho. (boisedev.com)
  3. The news of a birth in Boise is not really news and even the announcement of twins does not make a splash usually. KIVI-TV staff report that when the twins are cotton-tip tamarins, Zoo Boise is excited to get out the news. The twins were born to parents Eddy and Mimi on Feb. 28 and can be seen in the Small Animal Kingdom section of Zoo Boise. Cotton-top tamarins are considered critically endangered. (kivitv)
  4. A group of education and child care providers from around the state, including some public school districts, are suing the the Idaho attorney general’s office. The IdahoCapitalSun's Audrey Dutton reports the group applied for and received federal grants through the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare Community Partner Grant Program. These same providers then received a demand for information and records last week from Idaho Attorney General office. They state the information demanded is “thousands or tens of thousands of documents within the unreasonably brief time of 20 days … making it virtually impossible for (the providers) to respond.” (idahocapitalsun)
  5. A local man is in jail after a Sunday arrest involving a two-vehicle crash at South Federal Way and West Targee Street. CBS2 news staff report Tanner Borman was found to be driving under the influence in a crash that resulted in the death of 81-year-old Russell Butler. (idahonews)
