Bronco Football Tops Preseason Mountain West Poll

The recent media poll places Boise State as the favorite in the Mountain Division and Nevada grabs the top spot in the West Division.

BOISE, ID — The Mountain West Conference's preseason media poll was released Wednesday and a familiar team tops the picks.

The Boise State University football team was the pick of 23 of 25 first place voters to grab a conference title. Wyoming picked up the remaining two votes.

The overall point totals from the media choices are:

1. Boise State 148

3. Air Force 104

4. Colorado State 72

5. Utah State 47

6. New Mexico 39

In the West Division, Nevada led the voting, garnering 19 first place votes. San Jose State had 5 first place votes and Fresno State had one vote.

The rankings for the west are:

1. Nevada 141

2. San Jose State 121

3. San Diego State 96

4. Fresno State 85

5. Hawaii 56

6. UNLV 26
