Today in Boise:

  • Stop by anytime between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sundays and Mondays to explore the historic Boise train depot. There are historical displays to check out and feel free to explore the Platt Gardens in front of the building. Rides also available up to the top of the bell tower. (11:00 a.m.)
  • Nampa's founders wanted their town to be a haven of piety, refusing to sell plots to anyone who was planning on building a saloon or gambling hall, earning Nampa the nickname "New Jerusalem". The default prohibition would not last long though; the town would end up with three saloons before it even had a church. Take a walking tour of Nampa history. (6:00 p.m.)
  • With COVID restrictions in place and the future of live performances uncertain, it will not surprise you to learn that Opera Idaho made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone the remaining operas of the 2020-2021. (8:00 a.m.)
  • Come enjoy great wine and live music featuring Jordan Shaw at HAT Ranch Winery. (2:00 p.m.)
  • Looking for a fun, educational activity for kids and parents alike this fall? Check out Old Time Farm Day at the Schick-Ostolasa Farmstead on Sunday from 12:00pm-4:00pm. Catch a glimpse of what Idaho life was like in the 1860’s while watching the Dry Creek Quilters and Blacksmith-Scott Webster practice their crafts. The Fort Boise Garrison Living History Volunteers will be on hand to demonstrate early Idaho life in period costume and arms. Smarty Pants actors will be performing as historical characters from the Farmstead’s history. (Noon)
