BSU Student Athletes Make The Grade

Even with distance learning in place, student athletes of Boise State University finished the fall with a GPA of 3.40.

BOISE, ID—Marking the 18th-consecutive semester, student athletes attending Boise State University have excelled in the classroom, recording a GPA above 3.0. For the fall semester of 2020, the grade-point average was 3.40 among all athletic teams.

Due to state restrictions, all students attending the university were provided the option of invoking pass/fail grades for the fall semester due to remote learning.

A total of 56 student athletes earned a 4.0 GPA with football leading the way with 10 perfect grades. The cumulative GPA for the Bronco team set a school record, coming in a 3.12.

As in semesters past, the gymnastics team led the way with a team average 3.87 GPA. This marks the 13th-consecutive semester gymnastics has led the way.

The men's track and field and cross country programs also have reason to be proud, setting a program record 3.39 GPA.

The men on campus do have some catching up to do as every women's program enters the spring semester with at least a 3.39 cumulative GPA.
