The Boise Daily starts off a short week with disturbing news out of New Plymouth as a baby has died after being left in a car. Don't forget to vote today for Boise School trustee and celebrate next Labor Day with a new career courtesy of Boise Patch. Here is hoping our air clears up from the haze and take a trip out to the Boise desert to see Hawgsmoke.

- The Boise Daily has stressed we provide you with local Boise news, but find stories outside our city needing to be told. KTVB-TV staff report the sad news a baby under the age of one died in New Plymouth after being left in a vehicle. The incident took place Saturday evening and the investigation into the cause of death continues. (KTVB)
- Voting takes place today for trustees to sit on the Boise School Board. IdahoEdNews reporter Kevin Richert writes one candidate had his support withdrawn from a political action committee. Steve Schmidt, candidate in Race No. 4, lost support from of the Idaho Students First committee after Schmidt received the endorsement of the Liberty Dogs, a group recently involved in a public push against the Meridian Public Library. - As we just celebrated Labor Day, Boise Patch offers some local employment where you can celebrate Labor Day next year. A number of customer service positions are included, plus an ATV service specialist and an account manager in bioscience. (Boise Patch)
- Fires result in smoke and smoke appears to find the Boise Valley. CBS2 news staff write our hazy conditions the last few days stem from wildfires in Oregon and California as well as Idaho blazes. - The Hawgs will be in Boise this week, but we are not talking about riders of Harley Davidson motorcycles. Boise State Public Radio's Samantha Wright announces Hawgsmoke is coming to the desert outside of Boise. The competition pits A-10 fighter jet crews from around the nation against each other in competition. The 190th Fighter Squadron from the Idaho Air National Guard won the event last year and play host this year. (boisestatepublicradio)

- The Household Hazardous Waste Collection site for Tuesday is Fire Station 10 located at 12065 McMillian Road. (Noon)
- The Split Rail Winery joins with LEAP Housing in a "Wine Not Give" fundraising event. (5 p.m.)
- The Public Utilities Commission (PUC) staff are hosting two identical virtual workshops on Sept 6 at 7 pm and Sept 7 at 12:30 pm for members of the public to learn more about Idaho Powers study on the value of solar. (7 p.m.)
