City Of Boise: Boise Police Arrest Suspect In Stabbing

Charges: Aggravated Battery (F)

Just after 10 am Boise police patrol officers responded to a report of a stabbing in a residence on the 900 block of N. 27th Street.  Officers located an injured adult male victim on scene and Ada County Paramedics rushed him to a local hospital. Preliminary information indicated a female suspect had fled on foot and officers immediately began a detailed search of the area.  Detectives from BPD’s violent crime unit also responded and began an investigation.  SRO’s worked quickly to coordinate with the nearby schools which were put into shelter in place status as a precaution while officers searched for the suspect. A female matching the suspect’s description was located a short time later near Whitewater Park Blvd. and taken into custody. Further investigation showed the victim and the suspect are known to each other.  The suspect was identified as Sophia Hooper and she was booked into the Ada County Jail on the listed charge. The victim received non-life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition at the hospital.
