Here are the top stories today in Boise:

  1. Five people have been arrested for numerous drug charges. CBS2 news staff report the arrests took place in Meridian and involve a traffic stop and a search warrant of a Meridian home. Found in both were fentanyl and drug paraphernalia. (Idaho News)
  2. Grab your best cape as the Gem State Comic Con is back this weekend, for its fourth year at Expo Idaho. KIVI-TV staff write a number of celebrity guests will appear at the event and the Con runs from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Sunday. (Idaho News 6 Boise Twin Falls)
  3. The City of Eagle just became much larger. BoiseDev reporter Margaret Carmel reports The Eagle City Council voted 3-1 to incorporate Avimor into the city limits. The move means an estimated 8,000 more planned homes will now need to start paying city taxes, receiving city services and be subject to city planning and zoning regulations. (boisedev.com)
  4. If you believe March was snowy in Boise, you are entirely correct. KTVB carries a story by Idaho Press reporter Teddy Feinberg writing our fair city received 9.1 inches of snow in the month, the most since 1952. March had a way to go as 1917 saw 18.9 inches of the white stuff fall in March. (KTVB.com)
  5. The federal government wants local foods in the schools. Boise Patch reports Boise State University received $16.1 million — its largest single sponsored project award in university history — from the United States Department of Agriculture to help increase the amount of food that is sourced locally by school districts.
