The Boise community is invited to a vigil honoring all involved in the recent shooting at Boise Towne Square Mall. Students in Boise will be back on the computer for election day, and Idaho people are simply quitting. - The City of Boise has announced a community vigil to be held Thursday at the main entrance to Boise Towne Square Mall. All are invited to attend with the service starting at 7 p.m. (cityofboise)
- The Boise School District announced virtual learning will take place on election day, Nov. 2. According to staff of CBS2, in-person learning will not take place due to the number of people entering school buildings used for voting locations. (Idaho News)
- Idaho leads the nation on many lists, especially for positive number ones. However, Idaho now leads the nation in workers quitting their jobs according to KIDO-AM's Mateo. The article also includes the 20 highest paying jobs in the state. (kidotalkradio)
- Garden City is the small area surrounded by Boise. Anna Daly and BoiseDev look at the start of Government Island and the importance of Chinese immigrants to the area. And yes, after Boise outlawed gambling in 1949, Garden City was the Las Vegas of the Treasure Valley. (boisedev)

- Please join Golden Eagle Audubon as we walk through Hulls Gulch Reserve listening for our winter residents. Specific route will depend on trail conditions but could include stairs and steep, narrow trails. Be prepared to hike up to 2 miles. Expect to hear song sparrows, juncos, chickadees, goldfinches, kestrels, flickers, white-crowned sparrows and more! Familiarity with common species will be helpful. (9 a.m.)
- Sage International School of Boise will hold a Middle School Dance for students on Thursday. (6 p.m.)
- Have you had an encounter beyond the veil? We are on the hunt for brave souls who have encountered true-life horror stories. Speakers have 6 minutes or less to share their horrifying encounters during the online event held on Zoom. This series features terrifying true tales of the supernatural, told by people locally and from across the globe. We are looking for stories that range from close encounters with hauntings, shadow people, the instinct that saved you from a potential true-crime incident, demonic encounters and cryptozoology nightmares to lived urban legends, true-crime, sixth senses, UFO sightings, curses or passed-down folklore. There will be three featured authors for the event who specialize in horror poetry and fiction. The rest of the event will be true life supernatural stories shared by community speakers who signed up for this theme. This event is open to the public/ attendees who would prefer to just listen to the stories being shared and is partnered with Radio Boise. (7 p.m.)
- The One Stone All Community Halloween party is on Oct. 28 from 4-6 p.m. at JUMP with an optional movie night at One Stone afterwards from 6-8 p.m. We will have snacks, games, and prizes for costumes. Be on the lookout for the costume categories and invite your friends! (4 p.m.)
