Here are the top three stories in Boise today:
- Connect on the Deck, the new summer program at JUMP (Jack's Urban Meeting Place), is set to launch on the building's 5th-floor deck. Taking place every Thursday evening for the next five weeks, this community event offers opportunities for locals to connect and mingle. With live music, open bars, food, and activities like the Slides, both adults and children are welcome to enjoy the event and soak in the amazing views. (Idaho 6 News)
- In collaboration with Idaho Fish and Game, the City of Boise, and multiple bowhunting organizations, volunteers constructed a mile-long 3D archery range in the foothills of Boise. This popular range, built in 2019, features 20 life-like targets representing various animals, attracting archery enthusiasts. Besides enjoying the challenging and scenic setting, visitors also recognize the significance of treating the targets with respect and contributing donations for upkeep. (Idaho 6 News)
- Emily Watson, a rising senior at Boise High School, has been chosen to attend the renowned Joint Science and Technology Institute West. This prestigious program, taking place in Albuquerque, NM, from Jun. 10-23, encourages students to develop confidence in their abilities, enhances their STEM literacy, and provides hands-on research experience. With the guidance of STEM professionals and mentors, Emily will collaborate on a research project, gaining valuable insights into STEM technologies and career paths. The program is fully funded and sponsored by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. (Local News 8)

- Starting Monday, Jun. 12, 8th Street barriers will look a little different. Local artists Bobby Gayten along with a team of other artists plan to hold a live painting between 6:30-10:30 a.m. as they bring the barriers to life.
