Hello, hello! It's me, John Braese, your host of the Boise Daily — here to tell you everything you need to know about what's happening in town. I'll get right to it.

Welcome to the Sunday edition of the Boise Daily. We start with many Boise residents wanting to have a say in the future of local education. Riders on one local bus will be delayed some and a tragic find in rural Oregon has ties to a local mother and daughter. Boise parents will once again pay for school lunches and 'MagaGranny' will be behind bars for a while.

  1. Some people just wait until the last minute. IdahoEdNewsreporter Kevin Richert writes multiple candidates waited until the final day of the filing deadline to throw their names for the upcoming Boise School Board election. After the dust cleared, 18 candidates want five trustee seats. Each incumbent will face opposition in the Sept. 6 election. (Idaho EdNews)
  2. The thick, black smoke rolling out of downtown Boise Friday afternoon was a bus on fire. CBS2 news staff report the unoccupied bus went up in flames due to overheated rear brakes near the Boise Centre on the Grove. No injuries were reported, but the story does have video of the rolling flames. (idahonews)
  3. The search for a missing Caldwell woman and her daughter is over with a tragic ending. The Blue Mountain Eagle's Steven Mitchell reports Dawna Faye Roe, 51, and Gabrielle Michelle Roe, 16, were found in an area near Drewsey, Oregon in their van. The investigation is continuing, but no other individuals are being sought. A GoFundMe has been established with the author stating Dawna had struggled with mental issues for some time.   4. As school returns in August, some Boise parents will once again pay for those student lunches. Boise Patch carries the news previous federal pandemic waivers were not renewed by Congress and some of you will once again pay for those grilled cheese sandwiches. The article has a listing of schools that will continue to receive partial or full waived fees. (Boise Patch)
  5. A Boise woman, known on social media as 'MagaGranny', is making a trip to California to serve some federal prison time. LITE-FM's Kevin Miller reports Pam Hemphill will be serving 60 days incarceration for her actions in the January 6 storming of the nation's capital. (liteonline)
