The entire valley was discussing it and the smoke could be seen as far away as Ontario. The Darigold fire in Caldwell drew crews from around the valley and we have the story and pictures.   1. After scouring numerous news agencies, CBS2 Trevor Fay and other news staff have some of the best pictures of the Darigold fire in Caldwell. The blaze was reported Tuesday afternoon and crews continued on the scene Wednesday morning looking for hot spots. The cause of the fire remains unknown. (idahonews)
  2. Years before Amber Alerts and social media, Stephanie Crane disappeared from the streets of Challis, Idaho. Now, 28 years later, a news release from the Custer County Sheriff's Office again reminds us of the case. Crane has been featured on numerous television shows and thousands of hours of searching have taken place. Crane would be 37 this year. (eastidahonews)
  3. If you are a banking customer of Umpqua or Columbia financial institutions, be ready for some changes. BoiseDev editor Don Day reports the two entities are about to merge with the deal expected to close next year. (boisedev)
  4. In the time it took you to read the Boise Daily today, it happened — leaves fell off your tree. This is the time of year we end up raking and bagging in the City of Trees. The city will be picking up those bags for composting and we decided to remind you how to make sure those leaves are off your lawn and into the compost pile for the winter. (cityofboise)
  5. KTVB's Katie Terhune reports a Star woman is in custody after an arrest on 39 charges stemming from incidents in California. Shannon Bruga is accused of throwing drunken parties at which she encouraged underage teens to have sex with one another. (ktvb)

  • The Blue Galleries welcomes visiting artist Jennifer Chang Crandall to Boise State University. Crandall’s work crosses the disciplines of filmmaking, journalism, and art and her documentary project, “Whitman, Alabama” is currently showing in the Blue Galleries through Oct. 27. She will be in conversation with Gallery Director Kirsten Furlong for this free event and seating is limited. (5:30 p.m.)
