Here are the top stories today in Boise:

  1. According to a new study, Boise teens are struggling with depression. KTVB carries a story written by Idaho Press reporter Emily White stating a November 2022 survey conducted by the Boise School District found 30 percent of junior high students and 44 percent of high schoolers are depressed at a moderate to severe level. People at the moderate level are usually referred to treatment. (KTVB.com)
  2. On Wednesday, March 29, Boise Patch reported a stabbing incident near Avimor in Boise. KMTV news staff updates the story the suspect arrested in the incident knew the victim as an assailant of the suspect's mother. Raul Alexander Cuevas, 31, was arrested for allegedly killing Jesus Urrutia, 39. Both men are from Nampa. Police believe Urrutia stabbed Michelle Luna, 52, Cuevas’ mother in Nampa. Luna died at the scene. (KMVT)
  3. The celebration took 50 years to take place, but Vietnam veterans were recently honored on Vietnam Veterans Recognition Day. 4. The efforts to ban public drag shows will not make it through the Idaho Legislature this session. The IdahoCapitalSun's Mia Maldonado reports after passing the House, the Senate Affairs Committee presented two different draft alternatives to House Bill 265, neither of which will be presented this session.
