- A Boise man will serve at least seven years in prison for his actions in a road rage incident followed by a shooting incident at a Boise music venue. KTVB-TV staff report Ethan Byrd was sentenced Tuesday to up to 30 years in prison and will not be eligible for parole until seven years are served. On Sept. 5, Byrd swerved his vehicle at another person's car. A half-hour later, Byrd shot Darin Wall outside The Shredder. Wall sustained injuries to his leg due to the incident. (KTVB.com)
- If you are under age 18, two Idaho House committees don't want your opinion. The IdahoCapitalSun's Clark Corbin reports Idaho Legislature’s House Local Government Committee joined the House Judiciary, Rules and Administration Committee in a rule prohibiting public testimony from Idaho residents under the age of 18. Exceptions can be made with the permission from the chairwoman. (idahocapitalsun)
- Boise residents spoke up and the Boise City Council listened. BoiseDev senior reporter Margaret Carmel reports the council unanimously approved the city will not "sell, gift, trade or change the use of more than 5 percent of any public park or open space property" until a public vote is taken. The decision came after Boise residents argued against the city's idea of trading a large piece of the Murgoitio park site to developers for housing. (boisedev.com)
- He did not win the Super Bowl, but Michael Joel is heading to Disney World. CBS2 reporter Mickaela Elich interviews Joel after the Make-A-Wish Foundation granted his request for the trip. The 11 year old was diagnosed with a rare heart condition called Tetralogy of Fallot and has undergone multiple open-heart surgeries with at least two more expected. (Idaho News)
