- A Meridian man faces a possible sentence of life in prison after a jury found him guilty of second-degree murder. CBS2 news staff report Timothy Morgan was convicted of shooting 28-year-old Lamont “Bam” Rogers in downtown Boise on Sept. 5, 2021. (Idaho News)
- A group of Meridian residents are asking to do away with the local public library. KTVB-TV's Alexandra Duggan writes the group, Concerned Citizens of Meridian, has started the process to eliminate the Meridian Library District. The group has a number of complaints against the district including an allegation the district "continues to provide facilities for sexual indoctrination of minors by the Queer Straight Alliance." - It may be nonbinding, but the Idaho House of Representatives took the time to debate and voted to approve calling for formal talks between Idaho and Oregon to move the borders of the two states. According to the IdahoCapitalSun's Clark Corbin, the Greater Idaho movement would move 11 counties in Oregon into Idaho's state border. The Idaho Legislature, Oregon Legislature and Congress would all need to approve such a change. (idahocapitalsun)
- For lovers of local television, KNIN Fox 9 has been sold and will be owned by a family-owned company that has interests in smaller markets. BoiseDev editor Don Day reports Gray Television of Atlanta, Georgia announced it would sell the local station to Marquee Broadcasting, a company with stations in Walla Walla, Washington; Bowling Green, Kentucky; and Sheridan, Wyoming. - The Boise Patch jumps out of Boise news for a minute to report about a really smart Idahoan. KIDO-AM's Kevin Miller reports Pocatello resident Kendra Westerhaus now has a two-day total of $47,201 as a contestant on Jeopardy.
