Here are the top stories today in Boise:
- The recent Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe v. Wade resulted in hundreds of protestors taking to downtown Boise. KTVB-TV staff were with the protestors as they made their way from Boise City Hall to the state capital. Idaho's newest law, allowing family members to sue a doctor for damages if an abortion is performed, remains on hold pending an August 2 Idaho Supreme Court hearing. (KTVB.com)
- Grab the tubes, sunscreen and old tennis shoes. CBS2 news staff report the Ada County Parks and Waterways announced the official Boise River tubing season starts Monday. Barber Park will be open complete with parking kiosk, equipment rentals, shuttle service and snack shack available. (Idaho News)
- Is the answer to your romantic night under the Boise stars to smell like bacon? The East Idaho News released a story by CNN's Zoe Sottile of the release of N 100, a bacon-scented fragrance by Wright Brand. The spray-on is gender neutral and available for $19.22 at Wright100.com. - Boise Patch and the City of Boise is inviting everyone to enjoy the upcoming holiday with the Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration at Ann Morrison Park. This is a free show and will be synced to music on 107.1 K-HITS. Have everyone in their seats or blankets by the start time of 10:15 p.m., but the park will have food and drink vendors starting at 6 p.m. (Boise Patch)
- To stay with the same job for 40 years is an accomplishment. Boise home owners have undoubtedly caught an episode or two of "This Old House" featuring Norm Abram as they renovate a North End bungalow or work on converting that spare bedroom to an office at a residence on Five Mile. The Boston Globe's Brittany Bowker announces Abram, now 72, is calling it quits after filming over 1,000 episodes of PBS’s “This Old House” and more than 280 episodes of “The New Yankee Workshop.” A one-hour tribute special will air on Oct. 3 on PBS and the Roku channel.
