Eagle Paddleboard Manufacturer Dies On Payette River

Nicholas Zawadzki, the co-founder of an Idaho standup paddleboarding manufacturer died in an accident on Monday on the Payette River.

BANKS, ID — A whitewater accident on Monday claimed the life of the co-founder of an Idaho paddleboard manufacturer based in Eagle, Idaho.

Nicholas Zawadzki was traversing through rapids and was kicked off his board according to Boise County Sheriff Scott Turner. Zawadzki was co-founder of Hydrus Board Tech, a company based in Eagle that specializes in whitewater paddleboards.

Zawadzki's helmet and life jacket were recovered from the river, but the search continues for his body. He is presumed drowned per the sheriff's office.

Zawadzki was an experienced whitewater paddleboarder and had hours of experience on the section of river where the incident took place.
